The closing/award ceremony of the 1st International Animation Festival “AniMakers” took place today, in the Voronezh State Academy of Arts’ Center of Performing Arts and Light Design. The Festival was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Voronezh Oblast Government.
The animated short Omichka directed by Yelizaveta Skvortsova became the winner of the Grand Prize of the AniMakers Festival. Denis Chernov’s Finnik became the Festival’s Best Short. The Sprayer by the Iranian Director Farnoosh Abedi won the Best Animated Short nomination. The award was received by the jury’s head Omar Hoshnazar, who will pass it to the author. The Best Animated Show was taken by the project Oomke & Me, episode Voice Trap, directed by Daniil Voropay.
There were also several awards for different age categories. Sergey Merinov’s Apple Pie was chosen as the Best Movie for Small Children. The Best Movie for Children award was taken by Seed Cycle directed by Francesca Antounette Rodríguez Reyes from Peru. The Best Movie for Teens was Blackbird by the Turkish director Zeynep Incetekin. Finally, the Best Movie for Adults prize was given to the Columbian director Miguel Otálora for his work One Serving Per Can.
The Festival’s jury also had an award of the Best Student’s Work, which was received by a short animation Monkey Beats by Maria Syomina. Besides, Varvara Yakovleva’s Oneluv was noted with the Special Prize.
The jury also specially noted the animated show Tickabo, episode The Cars, directed by Mikhail Medvedev and the short animation Around Victor by Vasily Korepanov.
The winners were gifted handcrafted ceramic figurines, made by Olga Gurieva, a master artist and a member of the Russian Union of Artists.
